3:0 against "Valmiera"

Today, in the 9th round of the Latvian Highest league, we defeated last season's champion "Valmiera" with the scoreline of 3:0.Marko Regža scored two goals, Ousseynou Niang scored once. On May 4 game in Jelgava.

"Valmiera" became the champion of Latvia last season, but we was on the the second place. Before this game, we were in first place in the championship, while our opponents were in fourth place.

We completely dominated the first half of the game. In the sixth minute, after Niang's pass, Regža scored from close range - 1:0. 17 minutes later, Niang played very well again, the midfielder passed to the front of the goal, and Regža scored the second goal in the game - 2:0. We continued to attack, created several more goalscoring opportunities and at the end of the half, Marko scored the third goal, but the referees called for offside after a VAR check. After the first half we were leading 2:0.

In the second half, "Valmiera" showed a slightly better performance. Opponents tried to score, but we scored - in the 64th minute, after a good combination, Niang scored - 3:0. In the rest of the game, we were unable to capitalize on several more scoring opportunities. Nils Puriņš played great in our goal and we won 3:0.
