Two goals in the first half and victory against "Torpedo Kutaisi"

Today, as part of the training camp, we played the second test match in Turkey and won the Georgian team "Torpedo Kutaisi" with the result 2:0! Goals were scored by Douglas Aurelio and Antonijs Černomordijs. 

We have been training in Turkey since February 2. Two days ago, we beat the Montenegrin club "Dečic" in a test match with the result 1:0.

We played a quality first half of the game against "Torpedo Kutaisi". Georgians created a couple of good chances but didn't score, while we scored two goals in the first 45 minutes. In the middle of the half, Mikael Soisalo and Meleye Diagne played skillfully in the opponent's penalty area. The opponents made a foul against the attacker, and Douglas Aurelio scored a 11-meter penalty kick - 1:0.

In the course of the half, Douglas Aurelio and Hrvoje Babec made a shots from good positions. In the first moment, the opponents blocked the shot, but in the second - the goalkeeper caught the ball. In the 40th minute, Ousseynou Niang played very well individually. The Senegalese footballer outplayed several "Torpedo Kutaisi" players, passed to Raivis Jurkovskis, the defender sent the ball towards the front of the goal, but Diagne could not take this chance. At the end of the half, after Aurelio's cross Černomordijs made a great header - 2:0.

In the second half, head coach Stipić sent a completely different team to the field. In the second half of the game, the opponents controlled the ball more, but we played disciplined in defense. In one episode, goalkeeper Rihards Matrevics made a great save. At the end of the game, Armands Pētersons was close to score. The final result was a 2:0 victory.

The next game is on February 9 against another Georgian team "Dinamo Tbilisi". The kick-off at 16:30 Latvian time.
