Riga derby in the 1/4 final of the Latvian Cup

The clubs of the Latvian Highest league started the Latvian Cup from the 1/8 finals. "Riga" defeated "Metta" with the scoreline of 4:0. The goals were scored by Stefan Panic, Olegs Laizans, Armands Petersons and Vladimirs Kamess. RFS won the 1st league team "Auda" in its 1/8 final game with 8:0.

Directly against RFS, we lost in the Latvian Cup semi-final last year - 1:3. RFS after that became the cup winner. In turn, in 2018, in Cup we won the first title in the history of the club, when we defeated "Ventspils" in the dramatic penalty series.

We have played two games against RFS this season. In the first round of the Latvian football Premier League, we won with 2: 1 in "Arkadia" stadium, but in the second round we lost with 0: 2 in Skonto stadium. In connection with the second game, it should be mentioned that we did not use many opportunities to score goals.

"Riga" and RFS are convincingly taking the first two places in the Latvian championship this season. Currently, "Riga" is in the first place in the tournament table with 60 points in 22 games. RFS is in the second position with 51 points, but after the last decision of the Latvian Football Federation (LFF) with one game in reserve. 

Considering the start time of tomorrow's game, this week "Riga" trained at Skonto Stadium. All players are without injuries, full of motivation and ready to fight for a place in the semi-finals.
