Latvia enters the C league, players return to the team

The matches of the national teams have been played, after which the players have returned to the clubs. Latvia won the Nations League group D with Antonijs Cernomordijs and Raivis Jurkovskis in the squad, but Hrvoje Babec played 30 minutes for the Croatian U23 national team.

Latvia played two games during this break. On September 22, the Latvian national team lost to Moldova 1:2 at the Skonto Stadium, and on September 25, they played a draw against Andorra - 1:1. Antoniis played all 90 minutes against Moldova, Raivis was replaced after 88 minutes. In the second game against Andorra, Raivis played a full game, but Antoniis did not play due to injury.

In this group, the Latvian national team in six games won four matches, played a draw once and lost also once. Latvia earned 13 points and it was enough to win the group and get a ticket to the C League.

On September 20, the Croatian U23 national team with "Riga Football Club" midfielder Hrvoje Babec in the friendly game defeated (3:0) Qatar, which is preparing for the World Cup. Hrvoje played 30 minutes in the second half of this match. After this game, Babec joined us in the training camp in Cyprus.

The Finnish national team played two matches in the UEFA Nations League tournament. In the B league, on September 23, Finland drew 1:1 with Romania, but on September 26, they lost 0:2 away to Montenegro. "Riga Football Club" midfielder Mikaels Soisalo did not participate in these matches.
