1:3 loss in the leader game

Tonight in the 28th round game of the Latvian Highest league, in the away match we lost to "Valmiera" with the scoreline of 1:3. Marcelo Torres scored the only goal for our team. The next game is against "Liepāja" on Friday.

We had already played against Valmiera four times this season - we won the first game in the Latvian championship with 2:1, but in the rest of the season we lost both in the championship (0:3, 0:2) and in the cup (0:2).

"Valmiera" scored the first goal already in the second minute of the game. After the long pass, Camilo Mena was faster than all our players, went one on one with Roberts Ozols and at the end of the attack shot the ball into the net - 1:0. In the first half of the game, in general, we dominated, we controlled the ball more, we created more goal-scoring opportunities, but we were unable to score. The goal post also saved the home team once. After the first half of the game, the opponents were leading 1:0.

In the second half, "Valmiera" was better in the first minutes of the half. In the 56th minute, after a set-piece, Raimonds Krollis scored with a header (0:2). "Valmiera" played very convincingly in defense and we didn't get much in attack. In the 75th minute, the home team made a quick counterattack, and in the end, Artis Jaunzems scored the third goal in this game (0:3). Marcelo Torres got one goal back late in the game, but it wasnt' enought to get the points in the game. Loss with a score of 1:3.

The next game is on Friday at the Skonto Stadium against Liepāja. The kick-off at 18:00.
