2:0 in Derry

Tonight, in the 1st qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference league we beat "Derry City", one of the strongest teams in the Irish championship, with the scoreline of 2:0. Goals were scored by Gabriel Ramos and Oleksandr Filippov. Second leg match in a week in Riga.

In the first half of the game, we controlled the ball more and created more scoring opportunities. Already at the beginning of the game, Oleksandr Filippov shot from a good position after Mikael Soisalo's pass - the shot was not strong and the goalkeeper caught the ball. We scored the only goal in the first half in the 40th minute. Filippov played well on the left side, the striker passed the ball into the penalty area and Gabriel Ramos scored a beautiful goal - 1:0! The first part of the game ended with this result.

In the second half Ilya Korotkovs made his debut for our team in an official game. We overall controlled the game and looked for opportunities to score the second goal of the game. An important episode was in the 65th minute. A conflict broke out on the left side of the field and the opponent's player Matty Smith was sent off for unsportsmanlike behavior. In the remaining part of the game "Derry" played with ten players.

Three minutes later, Douglas Aurelio played masterfully on the left side. The midfielder passed to Filippov at the end of the attack, and the Ukrainian shot the ball into the far corner of the goal - 2:0. "Derry" overall had few opportunities in this game, but Nils Puriņš also played very convincingly in every episode when the opponents shot on goal. At the end of the game, Vladlen Yurchenko made a good shot, but the opponents were lucky - the ball hit the crossbar. Victory with the result 2:0.
