Sandro Perkovic appointed "Riga Football Club" head coach

We are pleased to announce that 38-year-old Croatian specialist Sandro Perkovic has been appointed as the new head coach of "Riga Football Club"! Welcome to Riga, Coach!

Sandro Perkovic was born on April 15, 1984 in Sisak, Croatia. Perkovic's career as the player was not very long. Sandro represented Austrian and Croatian clubs.

At the beginning of his coaching career, Perkovic worked for the Austrian clubs Ilz, Nestelbach and Sturm Graz. In 2018, Sandro signed a contract with the Cyprus Highest league club Paphos and was an assistant to Zeljko Kopic. After that, Perkovic worked for the Dinamo U19 team in Zagreb for one year.

In the summer of 2021, Perkovic became the head coach of the Cyprus club Akritas. This team secured a place in the highest league at the end of the season, but Sandro went to Croatia in the middle of the season. Perkovic was an assistant of the Croatian champion Zagreb Dinamo head coach Zeljko Kopic.

His assistant Zlatko Basic has also arrived in Latvia together with Sandro. This coach was born on September 22, 1975 in Slovonski-Brod, Croatia. Basic has worked as a coach at the Croatian clubs Radnik Sesvete, Zagreb, Slaven Belupo and Hajduk Split. The last stop for Basic was "Akritas". In the second half of the season, Basic was the head coach and earned the ticket to the Cyprus highest league. 

There have been no other changes in the coaching staff. The coach Kristaps Blanks, the goalkeeper coach Dragoslav Jevric and the fitness coach Saško Poposki continue to work in the club.
