Great victory in the Riga derby

Tonight at Skonto Stadium in the 16th round of the Latvian Highest league we beat RFS with the scoreline of 2:0. A very important victory in the Riga derby! Goals were scored by Glody Ngonda and Gabriel Ramos.

We had not won nine games in a row in the Riga derby - seven losses and two draws. In the first game of this season, we lost against RFS in away game with the scoreline of 1:2.

We started this game very well. In the second minute, Glody Ngonda scored a beautiful goal from a long distance - 1:0. After a short time, we created another beautiful attack. Vladimirs Kamešs had a great chance to score - the midfielder shot twice, but could not score. In the middle of the half, "Riga" played great - at the end of the high quality combination, Gabriel Ramos scored (2:0). RFS made few shots on target in the first half, but Nils Puriņš showed a convincing performance.

In the second half, our goalkeeper saved us from conceding goal a few times. The best chance in the second half was for us anyway. Mikael Soisalo was after very good team play had one on one chance. The Finnish midfielder made strong shot, but the goalkeeper saved the guests. We played the end of the game safely, we didn't give our opponents many opportunities. In the end, the victory with the scoreline of 2:0.

There will now be a three-week break in the championship. The next game is on June 18 in Tukums.
