THORSTEN FINK IS LEAVING THE CLUB

Riga, Latvia – May 16th, 2022 – Riga Football Club  confirms that the head coach Thorsten Fink is leaving the club to take on a managerial role with another club.

Riga FC and Thorsten Fink have decided to part ways, following an offer from another club. Riga FC will be paid an undisclosed amount for the move, which is going to set a new record high for such deal in Latvian football. Together with Thorsten, his assistants Sebastian Hahn and Nikola Vidovič will be leaving the club.

Thorsten has brought a lot of experience and made a solid contribution towards the club’s development. We are happy to have provided a stepping stone for his career with the position where he was noticed by other clubs that have valued his work and opened an opportunity for both the coach and Riga FC to financially benefit.

The club would like to express sincere gratitude to Thorsten for his work and wish him success in the next challenge with his new club!

The search for a new head coach is underway and the club will make further announcement once the process is completed. With the new appointment, the club and the Board will take in consideration doing everything possible to further improve the image of the club and sporting results of the team. At this moment Kristaps Blanks will take the head coach role.
