In tough game victory against Tukums

Today at "Mežaparks Sports Village" we won the "Tukums 2000 / Telms" team with the scoreline of 1:0 in the 8th round game of the Latvian Highest league. The only goal for our team was scored by Gabriel Ramos. On April 27 an away game against RFS.

Last season, Tukums played in the Latvian football First league. The previous season did not include a full championship in the First League due to the spread of Covid-19. Tukums earned 28 points in 14 games, took second place and it was enough to earn a ticket to the highest league.

Our team's head coach Thorsten Fink replaced all 11 players compared to the previous game. In the first half of the match there was a lack of understanding among our players. We controlled ball a lot, but there were only few good chances. A couple of good moments were for our forward Georgi Minchev, but in both situations the ball after Bulgarian shots went little bit wide. Tukums were relying on their ability to counter-attack. Draw 0:0 after the first half.

In the second half, we continued to play a lot with the ball, but we couldn't score for a long time. During the half, coach Fink made several substitutions. The only goal was scored in the 75th minute. After a great combination from a close distance the midfielder Gabriel Ramos shot the ball into the net -  1:0. At the end of the game, the opponents had one good chance, but the ball went a little bit wide. In the end, a difficult victory with 1:0.

The next game will take place on April 27 against RFS. The kick-off at 20:00!
