Three points in the pocket

Tonight at "Mežaparks Sports Village" in the 4th round game of the Latvian Highest league we beat "Spartaks Jūrmala" with the scoreline of 3:0. Goals were scored by Vladlen Yurchenko, Raivis Jurkovskis and Joselpho Barnes. On Sunday game in Daugavpils.

We played against "Spartaks" four times last season - three wins (6:1, 2:1, 3:2) and a draw once (1:1).

At the beginning of the game, "Spartaks" played very low in the defence. We controlled the ball a lot and tried to score the first goal in various ways. In the 18th minute, Vladlen Yurchenko scored the first goal in the "Riga" shirt. The midfielder with a beautiful shot sent the ball into the top corner from about 18 meters - 1:0. In the last 15 minutes, the opponents played more confident, tried to attack more and created one very good opportunity. Only a very good game of goalkeeper Nils Puriņš saved our team. After the first half we were in the lead with 1:0.

We played pretty badly in the first 15 minutes of the second half. "Spartaks" controlled the ball a lot, but we did not create anything dangerous in the attack. In the 67th minute Raivis Jurkovskis scored his first goal for our team - 2:0. Two minutes later Joselpho Barnes showed his attacking talent - 3:0. During the rest of the game, "Riga" confidently controlled the game, did not give opportunities to the opponents and won with 3:0. Second victory in a row.
