Nata scores in his debut, "Riga" wins "Valmiera"

Tonight at the Skonto Stadium in the 19th round of Latvian Highest league, "Riga" won "Valmiera" for the third time in the season - 1:0. Wesley Nata scored goal in his debut. On Thursday in Riga he will play against "Celtic" from Glasgow. 

We had won against "Valmiera" this season in both games - in Skonto stadium in the first round with 2:0 and in the second meeting in Valmiera with 1:0. Tonight our Brazilian midfielder Wesley Nata made his debut in Latvian Highest league. After a longer break, the defenders Armands Petersons and Antons Kurakins returned in starting lineup. 

At the beginning, "Riga" had a very big advantage, and in the seventh minute we also scored a goal. Herdi Prenga after corner hit crossbar, but ball dropped to Wesley Nata who with great shot scored goal - 1:0! "Riga" played aggressively and quickly for another 15 minutes, during which they created several goal scoring opportunities, which remained unused. There were no dangerous moments at the goal of Roberts Ozols in the first half. "Riga" spent the second part of the first half more calmly, no longer so often formed opportunities at the opponents' goal, and after 45 minutes the home team was in the lead with a 1:0.

At the beginning of the second half, "Valmiera" approached the "Riga" penalty area a couple of times, but Roberts Ozols played convincingly in all episodes. After an unconvincing first 15 minutes, "Riga" regained the initiative and was close to the second goal. Both Roger and Kule Mbombo had good opportunities. In one episode, the guests were rescued by the goalkeeper, in the second - by an inaccurate Kule shot. In the final part of the match, "Riga" safely played near their goal and protected their goal to zero. On the opposite side of the field, we failed to increase the lead, bet won the game with the scoreline of 1:0.
