Draw in Riga derby - 1:1

Tonight at the Skonto Stadium in the 20th round of the Latvian Highest league Riga derby between "Riga Football Club" and RFS ended with a draw - 1:1. The only goal for our team was scored by Felipe Brisola. The next game on October 2 in Jurmala.

In the Latvian championship against RFS, we had lost the last five games in a row. The games have been different, but we have not been able to win  against this Riga team for a long time. The last victory was won on July 17, 2020, when we won in away game with 2:1.

RFS played better at the beginning of the match, controlling the ball more and making some moments. RFS deservedly scored in the 34th minute. when Emerson Santana played individually great and in the end made a great shot in the top corner (0:1). Before that, the after opponent's captain Tomaš Šimkovič shot we were lucky. There were a lot of fouls in the rest of the first half, but without dangerous goal scoring moments. After the first half of the game, RFS was in the lead with 1:0.

"Riga" started the second half actively, and in the 50th minute Vitālijs Jagodinskis played with a hand in the penalty box. Felipe Brisola scored from penalty with a confidence - 1:1. In the 73rd minute, RFS's Kevin Friesenbichler was sent off the field after the unsportsmanlike episode on Vladimirs Kamešs. Unfortunately, in such a situation we were not able to score and the game ended with a draw - 1:1.

The next game will take place on October 2 in Jurmala. The game will start at 13:00.
