Riga derby with a task to win

In the Latvian championship against RFS, we have lost the last five games in a row. The games have been different, but we have not been able to win  against this Riga team for a long time. The last victory was won on July 17, 2020, when we won in an away match with 2:1.

These statistics are unpleasant and even more unpleasant after the Latvian Cup semi-final. In the second half we scored and were in the lead with 1:0, but RFS was able to make a comeback and in the end take a victory in extra time with 3:1.

Both "Riga" and RFS played the last games against "Liepāja". RFS won in an interesting game with 2:1, but we could not score on our field and lost with 0:1.

RFS is the championship leader with 53 points in 21 games. "Riga" has  44 points in the same number of games and takes the third place. There are seven games left for both teams in the championship. "Valmiera" is in the second place with 51 points in 23 games.
