"Riga" plays great and gets the victory against "Shkendija"

Tonight in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers in the 2nd round match at Skonto Stadium "Riga Football Club" won the North Macedonia champions "Shkendija" 2: 0. The goals were scored by Wesley Nata and Yurii Vakulko. The second leg game after one week will be played in Skopje. 

"Riga" in the first round of the Champions League played against Sweden's strongest team "Malmo". In the first game in Sweden we lost 0:1, but the match in Riga ended with a draw 1:1. That was not enough to get into the next round. Ivan Paurevič scored the only goal against the Swedes.

"Shkendija" played in the Champions League against the Slovenian champion "Mura". In the first game in Northern Macedonia, "Shkendija" created more goals, did not hit the pendulum and lost 0:1. "Shkendija" played a weak game on the Slovenian club pitch, Jan Krivak was sent off in first half, and the club of Northern Macedonia lost 0:5.

Tonight "Riga" played more with the ball from the first minutes. "Riga" created the first good opportunity, but the opponents were saved by the goalkeeper after Wesley Nata's shot. In the 13th minute, "Riga" scored. Jean Leo played great individuall and earned for us a corner kick. And after the cross of Mikael Soisalo, Nata made a great header - 1: 0. For the next 20 minutes we had a big advantage, but we couldn't score a second goal. Ivan Brkič had to save the team once in the second half. After 45 minutes, "Riga" was in the lead with 1:0.

"Riga" started the second half of the game perfectly and deservedly scored. In the 50th minute, Soisalo played great on the right side, the midfielder then made a pass to Yurii Vakulko, and the Ukrainian midfielder hit the ball from a close distance into the net (2:0). Also in the second half, Brkič played great once. The Croatian goalkeeper also had a great game overall. "Riga" created several more opportunities, but did not score the third goal. At the end of the game, the Latvian champion won with 2:0.
