Five goal game ends with 3:2 victory over "Spartaks"

Tonight at the Sloka Stadium in the 17th round game of the Latvian Highest league, "Riga Football Club" won "Spartaks" with the scoreline of 3:2. The goals were scored by Jean Leo, Raivis Ķiršs and Felipe Brisola. On July 22, "Riga" will play Conference league game against "Shkendija" at Skonto Stadium.

We had played two games against "Spartaks" this season. On April 3 we won with 6:1, but on May 13 the game against Jūrmala team was much more difficult. We scored the winning goal only at the very end of the game - 2:1.

We had a bad start to the game. Already in the eighth minute, we played poorly in the central defense, and Kwadwo Asamoah took his opportunity with a great shot in the far corner (0:1). "Riga" quickly took the initiative after losing the goal. In the 19th minute, Jean Leo did great almost all, but in the end missed from great position. Leo rehabilitated in the 37th minute when he shot the ball in the upper corner  from the penalty area - 1:1.

"Riga" continued to attack and scored the second goal. After the standard situation, the ball came to Raivis Ķiršs, who performed a great shot in the far top corner - 2:1. At the end of the half, we made mistakes several times ourselves, and a few seconds before the end of the half  "Spartaks" scored. After cross from left side, Leonel Wamba made a great header in the far corner - 2:2.

In the second half, "Riga" played very actively, but for a long time could not take opportunities. In the 61st minute, the visitors scored third goal. Felipe Brisola played great individually and shot the ball right in the corner. "Riga" had several moments to score the fourth goal. The best moment was for Antonijs Černomordijs. After a good combination, the defender made a shot, but opponent's were saved by goalkeepers head. The end of the game went smoothly, and "Riga" won with 3: 2.

Next game on July 22 at Skonto Stadium. In the 2nd round of the UEFA European Conference League qualifiers, "Riga" will play against the Macedonian "Shkendija". The match starts at 20:00. You can buy tickets now at www.bilesuserviss.lv.
