"Maccabi" in Israeli highest league last season took 87 points in 36 games and first place 14 points ahead of "Maccabi Haifa". "Maccabi Tel Aviv" won championship title for second year in a row and for 23rd time in history of the club, which is the largest amount of titles in Israeli championship. In last eight seasons "Maccabi" has won five championship titles. 

In 2015, "Maccabi Tel Aviv" played in UEFA Champions league group stage, but lost in all six matches. After that two times "Maccabi" qualified for UEFA Europa league group stage tournament. Last season on European stage for Israeli team was failure - 0:1, 2:2 against "Cluj" from Romania, and after two losses with 1:2 against "Suduva" from Lithuania. It should be mentioned that "Maccabi" is the only Israeli club that has never fall out from highest league of their country.
